Crows and Ravens are mysterious and intelligent beings, but what makes them most interesting is their similarity to humans. They live in families, they have loyalty, friendships, jealousy, love, bonds, aggression, sorrow, and joy. How do I know this? I had the privilege of befriending a group of wild crows. My art celebrates the place crows and ravens hold in their natural world, and their relationships with other animals including humans. I work in the traditional materials of oil, and the like, as well I am inspired by newer tools of digital painting. All of my digital works are hand painted one stroke at a time using a stylus pen and a Wacom tablet. Working digitally thus allows me to present my paintings on interesting surfaces like metal, acrylic, or wood.
