Our weekly hours on Wednesdays & Fridays from 11-5 and Saturdays from 12-4 continue until the 23rd. You are guaranteed to find something unique for someone on your list, maybe even yourself. Stop by and look around!

We are hard at work preparing for our 3rd annual swell gallery Holiday Arts & Crafts (& Vintage) Market. Set your calendars! Opening night will be Friday, December 2nd beginning at 5:00 pm, with weekly hours on Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and by appointment, throughout December.

There will be an amazing variety of fun handmade and vintage items from wearables to wall art to home goods to christmas items and much more. From now till Christmas we’ll be releasing tasty tidbits to whet your palate… beginning with this: An album of photos from last year’s Holiday Market.

Several of these makers will be joining us again this year, so don’t miss the opportunity to pick up that item that you are kicking yourself for not getting last time. Enjoy, and see you soon!

swell gallery is currently accepting submissions from artists interested in group and solo show opportunities, including our Holiday Arts & Crafts Market and our 2012 exhibition season.

Contemporary artwork and functional and funky crafts are sought. Please submit images of your work via email to curator@swellgallery.com. Either a link to your website or images attached to an email are acceptable. If you would like to submit your work in any other format, please email us first. While your at it, tell us a little about yourself.

Artists must be able to transport work to and from the gallery (pre-paid shipping is acceptable), and are strongly encouraged to attend exhibition receptions. Gallery commission is 25%. Cross-promotion is also encouraged to increase exposure for both the artist and gallery, and increase attendance and sales for exhibitions.  All accepted work must be display ready and artist must provide artwork details, artist statement and business cards for use by the gallery.

swell gallery is proud to present our first solo exhibition by Chicago artist and super cool guy, Eric Mecum, on July 31, 2010 from 3-8 pm.

Eric will be exhibiting intricately realistic paintings of vintage neon signs on both shaped wood cut-outs and traditional canvas.
